Each carved burl is a unique piece. When carving, we strive to follow the naturally grown exterior form to achieve a balance between the natural exterior and our smooth carved interior.

We buried this burl in the ground under wood shavings to age and darken. Once aged to our satisfaction, we carve, dry, sand and finish the burl over the course of a month.
